A view is a door opening. Retention is someone doing the job again next week. I know which one I can spend.

View Counts Lie. Retention Doesn't.

I have inflated dashboards and I have watched empty tools. I trust returning operators, completed counts, and fewer radios. I do not trust a vanity number on a post.

For writing, I trust replies, inbound work, and people who cite a specific paragraph. Not a screenshot of a counter.

Still collect views, just do not worship them

They can tell you a title was curious. They cannot tell you the tool worked. Separate the dashboards so you do not "optimize" the wrong one.

Time-to-second-task

If they never do a second lookup, the first was a demo. That metric has changed my roadmap more than any graph of hits.
